Open house hours are 12-2pm. During this time you may meet the dogs and fill out a pre-adoption application which will be checked during the week. If you have an approved pre-adoption application, we may be able to finalize an adoption during the open house. Note: Some of our dogs are in foster homes, and may not be available during the open house events. Other than during open houses, we do not show dogs/cats without an appointment. Fezziwig is in a foster home and is working on housetraining. When he came to rescue, he had very bad Demodectic mange, but he is now recovered and has grown all his hair back. He is a funny and playful little guy. He is becoming more and more social, gets along with other dogs, and would love to have a home of his own. He is a handsome little guy who is loved by his foster mom, but really would love a home of his own. He has been waiting almost a year for his special person to come along - maybe that is you? And if you are thinking about adding a pair of dogs to your family, Jacob Marley and Fezziwig are best of friends and would love to find a home together! Original Profile: Fezziwig and his friends came to us from an animal control facility where over 30 Chihuahuas and mixes were surrendered from an owner who had all the dogs in a 1 bedroom apartment. These little ones are shy and need socialization and some had some medical needs. They are now on their way to recovery and ready for adoption. Once they are comfortable in their surroundings, they like to play with toys and want to be held. If you are interested in adopting one of these boys, please fill out the pre-adoption application. Adoption Procedures: 1. Completely fill out the pre-adoption application. We will be checking with your vet if you have had pets, calling your landlord (if any) and checking a personal reference, before we contact you about visiting the adoptables. Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2. If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in. 3. If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her. In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day. If all the vetting hasn't been done yet, we will hold the pet for you until the vet work is completed. 4. If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application. You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time. Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us! The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $150 - $450 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested and started on preventative, microchipped, and dewormed. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.
